History has been reborn! The re-opening of the Bedford Springs Resort this past summer marked the realization of a dream for the citizens of Bedford and surrounding counties. Thanks to the vision of public officials at the local, state and federal levels, together with Bedford Resort Partners, Ltd, and the cheers of the entire community, a National Historic Landmark is once again a major destination in Bedford County.
The entire region is already reaping economic benefits from the establishment of a world class resort with golf, spa, banquet and conference amenities. In addition, a number of fine and casual dining choices have been added to the restaurant inventory in the county.
At a July 12 ceremony, the oldest living former guests of the Bedford Springs Resort were the first official visitors to sign the ledger at the check-in desk. Max and Mary Frances Elbin met, and fell in love, at the Springs in 1938.
Later that month, a public open house was held for thousands of curious residents of Bedford County along with friends and fans of the historic resort.
As fall approaches, the influence and economic impact of Bedford Springs Resort continues to grow.
